Oppo is set to announce its next generation of its F series smartphones i.e. Oppo F3 and Oppo F3 Plus this month. These new F series smartphones are expected to come with dual front camera for selfies and compete with Vivo V5 and V5 Plus smartphones, which come with 20 MP + 8 MP Dual front camera sensors (for V5 Plus) along with flash. Oppo has already sent out media invites for an event on 28th March in India which also indicates a dual camera setup, though the company has not revealed much about the proposed event.
Just ahead of the official launch, the technical specifications of Oppo F3 Plus has leaked. The leak comes in the form of a specification sheet of the device which lists out all the details of the upcoming selfie smartphone. As per leak, Oppo F3 Plus sports a 6.0 inch Full HD 1080p display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, powered by Octa-core Qualcomm MSM8976 Pro i.e. Snapdragon 653 processor and 4 GB of RAM. It comes with 64 GB of internal storage along with support for expandable storage via microsd card up to 256 GB. It runs on Color OS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system.
In terms of camera, it comes with a dual front camera setup with 16 MP + 8 MP camera sensors and a 16 MP main rear camera at back. The leak doesn’t talk about any flash on the front, which is there in Vivo V5 Plus. When it comes to battery backup, Oppo F3 Plus is backed by a 4,000 mAh battery. It comes with dual SIM support (dual Nano Sim). It supports 4G LTE with bands B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20/28. In terms of dimensions, it measures 163.63 x 80.8 x 7.35 mm and weighs 185 grams.
This leak only indicates the specifications of the device and we are yet to see any device renders or images of the upcoming device. How credible this leak is, will be known only when it launches officially this month. Hence, as with any other leak, take this with a pinch of salt.
