Gionee has already announced the official launch date of its upcoming Gionee S9 smartphone. The launch event is scheduled for November 15 in China. The device is already listed on Chinese certification agency TENAA and was spotted on Antutu Benchmark revealing the full technical specifications of the device including the images. The TENAA listing indicates the dual camera setup at back of the S9 phone which is already confirmed by the company in its launch event teaser released earlier today.
Now, a set of real life images of alleged Gionee S9 is spotted on Chinese social network weibo which gives us the first glimpse of the actual device. The leaked image show Gionee S9 in powered on condition with Home screen and we can clearly see the physical navigation buttons at the bottom along with a Home Button which we assume integrates the fingerprint sensor too. The front camera and the speaker can be seen at the top. Rest is the usual home screen of the device which gives no insight into operating system of the device.
The back panel image clearly shows the dual camera setup of the Gionee S9, with LED flash placed next to it. The Gionee logo is placed below the dual camera which appears like a fingerprint sensor too, but it’s not. The TENAA listing suggests that it comes with two camera sensors of 13 MP + 5 MP as the main camera setup and a front shooter of 13 MP for selfies. The combination makes it a great device for selfie lovers and casual photographers.
We already know that Gionee S9 sports 5.5 inch full HD 1080p display and is powered by 1.8 GHz / 2.0 GHz Octa-core processor with 4 GB of RAM. It comes with 64 GB of internal storage with expandable storage support and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based operating system. The device is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery.
