Firefox Beta for Android is available for ARM 7 and above Android devices. There was very little hope for ARM 6 devices as Mozilla was not in a mood to support them due to hardware issues. But later they do changed their mind and started working to make Firefox for Android compatible with ARM 6 devices too. At the moment, Firefox beta for Android supports only ARM 7 and above devices.
ARM 6 devices are usually low end old Android devices. MOst users of these devices including me would love to get Firefox running on the dvices. Looks like development of Firefox for Android on ARM 6 Devices is in full swing and we were able to locate a nightly build of Firefox for Android beta for ARM 6 devices at Mozilla FTP servers. If you are using a ARM 6 devices such as LG P500 and dont have the patience to wait for official beta version, then you can head straight to the Mozilla FTP servers and download the APK file to install it on your device.
The size of APK file (~17.4 MB) is a bit more than most of us would expect. Wedownloaded the Firefox APK file straight away and installed it on LG P500. It installed smoothly on it just like any other APK. It gets installed on your device by the name of “Nightly” instead of Firefox though. We ran it and it was a smooth experience with one instance of getting hanged.
Download Firefox for Android for ARM 6 Nightly.
As it is still a nightly build, hence it must be full of bugs. If you decide to install it. you must be prepared to face some bugs. I am using it on my LG P500 and loving it. We will do a full review when Firefox for Android gets out finally.
