OnePlus is expected to launch a new flagship smartphone in second half of 2017 and rumors indicate that the company may bypass OnePlus 4 ( skipping the “four” moniker as it is considered unlucky in China) by launching OnePlus 5 as their next flagship device after OnePlus 3T. Though we still to get some credible information which confirms this rumor of skipping OnePlus 4. Today, we have some information originating from China which in fact corroborates that rumor and we may in fact see OnePlus 5 as the next flagship device.
A new smartphone has surfaced on China’s Radio Regulation Authority / Wireless authority which confirms the name of the device as OnePlus 5 and Model number A5000. If you remember OnePlus 3 comes with a model number A3000 while 3T comes with model no A3010. OnePlus 5 is rumored to sport a 5.5-inch 2K display (1080 x 2048 pixels) display, powered by Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor along with 6 GB / 8 GB of RAM. In terms of camera, it is rumored to comes with a 23 megapixel sensor at back with features like optical image stabilisation, zoom, fast flash etc. along with a 16 MP front shooter for selfies, while the phone is expected to be just 7 mm thin with slim bezels.
