Samsung is set to officially unveil the Galaxy Note8 on August 23 and we have heard rumors about presence of a dual camera module on the upcoming flagship device. Today a new report from Korea confirms the dual camera module rumor with some additional details and gives us a sneak peek into what we can expect with the Galaxy Note 8 Dual camera. Samsung has been late to the dual camera module party with Huawei and Apple already leading this segment with their devices.
As per the report, Galaxy Note 8 is equipped with a dual camera and this is the first time when Samsung Electronics’ Smartphone is equipped with a dual camera though we have seen rumors about Samsung Galaxy C7 (2017) may be the first device from Samsung to feature a dual camera module. The report indicates that Galaxy Note8 dual camera module consists of an optical and telephoto camera sensors that use 12MP dual-image pixel sensor and another 13MP sensor . Both the camera sensors come with support for OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) technology and feature 2x optical zoom. Earlier rumors suggests both camera sensors of 12 MP each instead of 13 MP + 12 MP.
The report also suggests that Samsung will start using the dual camera module more aggressively in its devices after Galaxy Note8 and is planning to use dual cameras for its future flagship models and middle-range devices. The company is also looking to replace cameras of all of its Smartphones with dual cameras.
Galaxy Note8 rumored to feature a 6.3-inch SuperAMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 in the United states, while Samsung Exynos 8895 for rest of the world. It measures 162.5 mm x 74.6 mm, with 8.5mm thickness. In terms camera, Galaxy Note8 comes with dual rear camera featuring two camera sensors of 12-MP each with primary sensor having f1.7 aperture and dual-pixel autofocus, while the telephoto lens comes with f2.4 aperture, with 2x optical zoom. Both sensors comes with optical stabilization (OIS). On the front, Note 8 features an eight-megapixel shooter with an f1.7 autofocus lens.
In terms of battery, Note8 is backed by a fast-charging 3300 mAh battery and ships in Midnight Black, Maple Gold, Orchid Grey & Deep Sea Blue color options. The phone may cost nearly €1,000 in Europe and is expected to ship in September.
