Xiaomi Mi 7 / Mi 8 is set to be officially unveiled on May 31 which s just a week away and company has already started teasing about the upcoming device from its social media channels, yet we still don’t have the confirmation if they are indeed going to skip annoucing Mi 7 and only announce the Mi 8 as appears from their last teaser image released from the official company handle on Weibo.
Ahead of the official launch on May 31, some alleged real images of Xiaomi Mi 7 / Mi 8 have surfaced on the Chinese social network Weibo which reveal the design of the upcoming flagship device from Xiaomi. Check out these images below which reveal that the upcoming flagship from Xiaomi comes with an iPhone X like notch which is slowly becoming a trend.
These images indicate that Mi 7 / Mi 8 comes with a dual camera module at rear aligned vertically with the fingerpirnt sensor placed at the conventional postion while on the front we can see the virtual on-screen navigation buttons and an iPhone X kind of notch on the top of the display which is perhaps 18:9 display. Another thing that is easily noticeable is the fact that this device seems to be running on stock android instead of the usual MIUI from Xiaomi. We also notice that the notch at top of the display is blocking some portion of the “text” and hence brings some suspicion if this is credible or Fake?? Perhaps we will know for sure when the official unveiling happens on May 31.
Rumors indicate that Mi 8 may feature an 6.01” display with wide notch having in-house 3D sensors for face unlocking. In terms of hardware, it is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SOC with up to 8GB of RAM. In terms of pricing, it is rumored to be priced at CNY2,799 (around €370/$440) for the 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant while the high-end version with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage for CNY3,199 or about €420/$500.
