Xiaomi unveiled their large phablet Mi Max in May last year in China, followed by launch in India in June 2016. Xiaomi Mi Max sports ultra thin metal body with 6.44 inch Full HD IPS 2.5D curved glass display powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 (Hexa core) / 652 (Octa core) CPU along with 3 GB / 4 GB of RAM along with 32 GB / 64 GB / 128 GB internal storage. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI operating system. It comes with 16 MP main rear camera and a 5 MP front shooter for selfies. It is backed by a 4,850 mAh battery.
Today, a new rumor indicates that Xiaomi is planning to unveil the second generation Mi Max 2 in May 2017, just one year after the first launch. The rumor also gives some sneak peek into the specifications of upcoming Mi Max 2.
As per this rumor, Mi Max 2 will come with same 6.44 inch display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. In terms of RAM and Storage variant, the rumor indicates higher variant of Max 2 with 6 GB of RAM along with 128 GB of internal storage. It is backed by a 5000 mAh battery along with support for fast charge. The rumor doesn’t give any clue about the camera sensors at front and back nor about the operating system. We can safely assume it to be Android 7.0 Nougat based MIUI, but that’s just our guess.
