Few weeks back in February, Androidpure reported that Xiaomi is planning to unveil the second generation Mi Max 2 in May 2017 including the rumored specifications. As per the rumor, Mi Max 2 is rumored to use the same 6.44 inch display, but is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. It also indicated a 5000 mAh battery with support for fast charge.
Today, a new device from Xiaomi has surfaced on benchmarking portal Gfxbench. The device comes with the code name of “Xiaomi Oxygen” and by looking at the specifications of the device, we believe it to be the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Max 2. As per the Gfxbench listing, Xiaomi Oxygen or Mi Max 2 sports a 6.4 inch Full HD 1080p display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz along with Adreno 506 GPU. It may be the rumored Snapdragon 660 Soc chip. It comes with 4 GB of RAM and comes with 128 GB of internal storage. The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat based operating system with MIUI on top of it.
In terms of camera, it comes with a 12 MP main rear camera capable of capturing ultra HD or 4K videos, with features such as auto focus, face detection etc. On the front, it sports a 5 MP front shooter that can capture video at 2592 x 1944 resolution. It includes the NFC support too.
Existing Xiaomi Mi Max higher variant is sports a 6.44 inch Full HD IPS display, powered by Snapdragon 652 along with 4 GB of RAM and comes with 128 GB of internal storage. It come with 16 MP main rear camera, with dual-tone LED Flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and another 5 MP front shooter with f/2.0 aperture.It is backed by a huge 4850 mAh battery.
Xiaomi is yet to announce any official launch date for Xiaomi Mi Max 2. As with any other rumor, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
