Just two days back we reported about an alleged Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 poster which suggestsed an imminent launch of the full screen device from Xiaomi. Today we have the official confirmation of the same and even an official launch date of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. Xiaomi has just announced that they will be launching their next generation of their full screen Xiaomi Mi Mix on September 11, though earlier rumors had suggested a launch date of September 12.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 has already appeared on benchmark listings revealing that it is powered by Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 MSM 8998 processor along with 6 GB of RAM and runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) based operating system. Another rumour indicate 8 GB of RAM along with 128 GB / 256 GB of storage and a 5 MP front shooter positioned at the bottom bezel of the smartphone. Based on the rumors, the smartphone may feature a 6.4-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2540 x 1440 pixels though Xiaomi may stick to 2040 x 1080 just like the Mi MIX. When it comes to the main rear camera, rumors are contradictory with some indicating a 12 MP shooter on the back, while others suggesting a 19 MP sensor. How much of this is true, we will only know when it launches officially on September 11.
Coming to existing Xiaomi Mi Mix, it sports a 6.4 inch edgeless display with a massive 91.3% screen to body ratio and the second generation is expected to improve this ratio making ti closer to 100%. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with 4GB/ 6GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. The phone is backed by a 4400 mAh battery which supports Quick Charge 3.0. The main rear camera on the Mi Mix is a 16 megapixel lens with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus), and a Dual LED Flash.
