Bitdefender launches a free antivirus app for Android devices.
Before I begin the post, let me mention that they already have “Mobile Security & Antivirus” which is a paid app. Whereas the new app that they have launched is completely free.
Bitdefender Antivirus Free uses the same scanning engines as Bitdefender Mobile Security. And it also uses the same cloud services for scanning the apps, so you cannot scan your device without a network. While this is a downside, it is actually done to enable your device to run smoothly and stay safe against the latest threats. Another key feature in the app is the Autopilot, which acts as a smart on-install scanner that checks all apps for suspicious activity and blocks suspicious apps. You can also scan the device manually using the On-demand scan.
