Samsung launched their first Android Wear device, the Samsung Gear Live, yesterday at the Google I/O 2014 Developer Conference.
This is the second smartwatch to run on Google’s new OS, after the LG G Watch, which was also unveiled at the same event.
The specifications of the Gear Live, was also leaked before the official launch, and it was spot on.
A notable feature of the Gear Live is the display, which is a Super AMOLED, unlike the LG G watch, which has an LCD Display. The display is slightly smaller (0.02″) than the G Watch at 1.63″, but it has a higher resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Processor, backed by 512 MB of RAM. The internal storage is of 4 GB.
The watch will also have a Heart Rate Monitor, apart from the Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass sensors. The Gear Live is IP67 certified Water and Dust resistant.

Even though the US Play Store says that the Samsung Gear Live will be available for $199, the watch has been listed for Rs 15,900 at the Indian Play Store, which is roughly around $265. We are not sure why a watch which costs less than the LG G Watch, is priced higher than it in India. The G Watch is priced at $229 in the US, and $249 in India.
