Angry Birds Go! races onto Google Play

Rovio have released their Mario Kart like racing game, Angry Birds Go! for Android devices.Angry Birds Go Android

The game was soft launched in a few Countries for iOS users before its Worldwide launch on Android.

The graphics in the game are quite beautiful and we have to credit Rovio for offering such quality in a free game. The sound and the music are quite good too. That being said, the game isn’t very fun due to the extremely short races available. Atleast the first 4 or 5 races were short.

All racers start on a slingshot, and you have to pull on your Kart and aim, similar to the other Angry Birds game, to launch the Kart after the countdown. You can switch between tilt and touch controls, I personally find the touch controls to be the best option here.

Each character has its own special power, Red can take a jump+speed up, while Stella blows giant bubbles to slow you down. You can use a powerup once per race for free, additional uses cost gems. You know what this means, IAPs.

You can upgrade your Kart for Improved Top Speed, Handling, Strength and Acceleration.

There are 5 game modes:

  • Race : A normal race with other characters from the Angry Birds franchise.
  • Time Boom: Get to the finish line before the timer fuse runs out.
  • Fruit Splat: Smash all the fruits to fill up the bar, and the remaining fruits will turn to coins which you can pick up.
  • Champion Chase: Beat the champion 3 times to recruit them.
  • Mega Match: A one on one race with another character.

Download Angry Bird Go! for free from Google Play:

The game is a rather big download at 168 MB. Make sure you have enough free space to download and install it.

Note: Surprisingly, the game is not compatible with the Nexus7 2012 yet.
