The latest Android Distribution Statistics were released to the Google Dashboard today.
And guess what? Android Lollipop runs on less than 0.1% of devices.
The pie-chart featured above is straight from Google, and shows the distribution of the various versions of the Android OS.
Here is a table which shows the percentage of distribution of the same:
OS version | Android OS | % Devices |
---|---|---|
2.2 | Froyo | 0.5 |
2.3.x | Gingerbread | 9.1 |
4.0.4 | Ice Cream Sandwich | 7.8 |
4.1.x | Jelly Bean | 21.3 |
4.2.x | Jelly Bean | 20.4 |
4.3 | Jelly Bean | 7.0 |
4.4 | KitKat | 33.9 |
If you are wondering why Lollipop is missing in both the table and the pie-chart, it is because Google does not show the statistics of OS versions which have less than 0.1% distribution. And that is how we are able to conclude the usage stats of Lollipop devices.
This is not surprising, since Google is yet to roll out the update for some of the Nexus devices.
