Barely a few minutes after the rumour mill churned out news about Android 5.1 spotted on an Android One Phone, we have a delightful surprise for Android One users in India.
Google India has announced that the Android One phones will be getting the Lollipop update in the coming weeks.
The announcement was made on their Official Google+ page, but it is not exactly breaking news. Back in November 2014, we reported about Spice CEO Prashant Bindal, who said that the Lollipop Update for Android One could be released in January.
Well, it is February now, but the news about Android 5.1 should be taken into account here. We can only presume that Google will roll out Android 5.1 Lollipop to Android One phones directly, and skip the 5.0.2 update.
