Google has updated the beta channel of its Chrome browser to add some new APIs.
These APIs have been implemented in the Android version of Chrome beta, which allows websites to push notifications to your device, even when the browser isn’t open. This could come in handy, when a user wants to be notified of new posts published by a blog.
As you can see from the above image, that is how a push notification will look like, and it displays a “site Setting” button just below the notification, which will allow the user to disable the notifications from the website which sent it.
Additionally, the browser will now display banners to add shortcuts to the homescreen, but don’t worry not all websites will display such banners. Only high quality websites, which meet Google’s eligibility criteria will have this option.
If you do not have it already, download Chrome Beta for Android from Google Play.
