Nexus 4 users have been waiting patiently to get Android 5.1 Lollipop update from Google for quite long time. Even though Google has provided no official information on Nexus 4 – Android 5.1 Lollipop availability, still users are hopeful to get the update sooner or later even though Nexus 4 has surpassed the official support period of 18 months after initial release.
Here is some ray of hope though, if the screenshot posted by a reddit user is true. The user claims to have recieved the Nexus 4 – Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA notification on his device and asked how he can grab the OTA update zip file and share.
As per the image posted, the Nexus 4 Android 5.1 OTA update file is 174.5 MB in size. As usual with any update, the OTA flashing needs a restart of the device. We will share the procedure on how to update your Nexus 4 to Android 5.1 using a OTA zip file when we get the actual OTA zip file and can be downloaded. The resolution of the posted screenshot is 768 x 1280 which is same as Nexus 4 and hence the screenshot may be genuine.
Nexus 4 at the moment is running Android 5.0.1 Lollipop.
We will keep our fingers crossed and hope the screenshot provided is not fake as its difficult to verify that at this moment. We will keep you updated as and when we hear more about it.
