Samsung is reportedly planning to update its flagship devices, the Samsung Galaxy s6 and S6 Edge, to Android 5.1 next month.
Canadian carrier, Rogers, has posted a release timeline for the devices at its website.
Android 5.1 Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge
It reveals that Android 5.1 Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge sometime in June 2015. Usually when the manufacturerrs send the firmware to carriers, it takes some time for them to add their propreitary network related software changes, and roll it out to their users. This takes a longer time to process, as the firmware will then need to be tested by the carrier.
So, we could be seeing the Android 5.1 update on the global Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge variants, much sooner. Android 5,1 is expected to fix memory leaks and other critical bugs. The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will get Guest Mode, new camera features, RAW image support and more.
