Motorola has just announced the list of Motorola devices that will be getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the near future. Android 6.0 Marshmallow was released along with Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P just few days ago by Google. Motorola devices are popular and in last few years, have recieved Android updates much faster than any other OEM.
As per the announcement made by Motorola on its blog, following devices will be getting the updates in near future:
- 2015 Moto X Pure Edition (3rd gen)
- 2015 Moto X Style (3rd gen)
- 2015 Moto X Play
- 2015 Moto G (3rd gen)
- 2014 Moto X Pure Edition in the US (2nd gen)
- 2014 Moto X in Latin America, Europe and Asia (2nd gen)
- 2014 Moto G and Moto G with 4G LTE2 (2nd gen)
- DROID Turbo
- 2014 Moto MAXX
- 2014 Moto Turbo
- Nexus 6
In the list above you will notice that Moto E devices are not listed and hence won’t be getting the upgrade unless they decide otherwise later on.
Even though they have announced the devices, yet no timeline is provided even for a single device. You can safely assume that the updates will start rolling out starting next year or almost around end of this year. Stay tuned for updates. We will update you as and when we hear more from Motorola.
