Infocus M530 will not get Android 5.0 Lollipop update

Infocus M530  was one of the popular smartphones after Infocus M2 launched in India targeted towards initial mid-level budget conscious consumers. The device is priced Rs. 10,999 and is available via Snapdeal only. M530 smartphone sales did went well and it even managed to create some buzz in consumers having a budget of just Rs. 11,000.

The device runs Android 4.4 Kitkat as its operating system. Even though they never promised a Lollipop update, yet many consumers were hopeful to get at least one major upgrade i.e Android 5.0 Lollipop sooner or later.

But it appears that the company has no plans for providing an Android 5.0 Lollipop update (even if it’s not an OTA update) for Infocus M530 . This is clarified in the reply given to one of the customer query about the Lollipop update on the company’s official Facebook India page. Checkout the screenshot below which reproduces the conversation.

The statement clearly says:

Unfortunately, the Lollipop update will not be available for Infocus M530. The phone however, is packed with a whole lot of features to maximize your experience.

As we reported sometime back, Infocus M2 was denied a Lollipop update just like M530. We will keep you updated if we hear anything more on this.
