Emojis, or emoticons, as some of you may call it, are possibly the most popular element of Instant Messaging.
Android and iOS use emojis, which are based on the Unicode format.
Recently, Apple’s devices have had a ton of new emojis baked in to their operating system. And this didn;t go well amongst the Android community. Users began screaming at Google, asking it to include more emojis in Android, this was especially the case on Reddit.
And guess what, Google has listened to user feedback. Hiroshi Lockheimer, the new SVP of Android tweeted the following message.
So I have a feeling y'all want new emojis? a) Thanks for the feedback, b) We're on it, and c) Sorry!

So, we could be seeing some more emojis in a future update for Android.
