ASUS has announced the update timeline in which its Zenfone series will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update.
ASUS Zenfone 2 Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update Timeline:
- ZenFone 2 (ZE550ML, ZE551ML)
- ZenFone 2 Deluxe (ZE551ML)
- ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition (ZE551ML)
- ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE500KG, ZE500KL, ZE550KL, ZE551KL, ZE600KL, ZE601KL)
- ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL)
- ZenFone Max (ZC550KL)
- ZenFone Zoom (ZX551ML)
Additionally the PadFone S (PF500KL) will also be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. ASUS has said it will roll out the Android M update in the second quarter of 2016, i.e. sometime between April to June.
The update will add Google Messenger, Calendar, and Gmail apps, and if the user chooses to perform a factory reset, these apps will be the default apps instead of the ZenUI apps: ASUS Messenger, ASUS Mail and ASUS Calendar. These three apps, can be downloaded from Google Play.
