Asus is rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update to Zenfone 2 Laser ZE500KG smartphones. Asus already rolled out Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update to other Zenfone 2 Laser variants i.e . ZE500KL and ZE550KL. Zenfone 2 Laser ZE500KG is one of the 5 inch variants of the device and it’s users were feeling left out after the company rolled out the update for other two variants.
This OTA update brings the latest Android System Mashmallow to the smartphone, but Asus cautions that internal storage may decrease slightly after applying this update and hence users would back up data including media files such as pictures & video clips or anything else before applying the update. As in previous cases, the update results in no support for APP2SD i.e. you cannot transfer app / games to microsd card to save space on phone storage. It also removes the multi-user function, but old accounts will keep working.
The Marshmallow update won’t pre-loaded the usual bloatware after the upgrade. The long list of those apps can be found in the source link at the end of this post.
The update is rolling out in phases and hence will reach you in few days if you have not received the OTA update notification yet. To check manually, please go to Setting->About->System Update.
