Oppo launched Oppo R9 just few weeks back in China and now we have a new smartphone from the company that is spotted on Chinese telecommunication authority TENAA along with full hardware specifications including the device images. We have earlier reported that Oppo R9s with super VOOC charging may be launched in August which appears to be the case. The new device is listed as ‘Oppo R9km’ on TENAA which means that it is some kind of variant of existing R9 smartphone.
In our opinion, this is Oppo R9s, about which rumors were floating around on the web and now we know that it is scheduled to be launched on August 24. The launch date of Oppo R9s comes from a leaked teaser from Oppo which gives us the date of 24 August.
As per TENAA listing, Oppo R9s sports a 5.5 inch Full HD 1080p TFT display and is powered by 2 GHz Octa-core Processor which we believe is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, along with 4 GB of RAM. In terms of storage, it comes with 64 GB of internal storage along with support for expandable storage via microsd card up to 128 GB. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based operating system.
In terms of camera, it comes with 13 MP main rear camera and a 16 MP front shooter for great selfies. A front camera of 16 MP from Oppo signifies the selfie craze that the company is catering to, by providing a bitter selfie camera compared to main rear camera.
In terms of dimensions, it measures 151.8 × 74.3 × 6.85 (mm) and weighs 151 grams. Oppo R9s is backed by a battery of 2850 mAh capacity. In terms of connectivity, it supports WiFi, 2G/3G/ 4G LTE along with VOLTE support. It will be available in Gold color option.
As we have said earlier, it is expected that Oppo R9s will feature the Super VOOC charging technology using which you can charge the battery of the smartphone from zero to 100% in just 15 minutes instead of ~1.5+ hours in case of fast charging and ~3 hrs+ in case of conventional charging.
