As expected, Nubia has just announced a new compact smartphone at an event in China. The new smartphone is the upgraded Nubia Z11 mini and is labelled as Nubia Z11 Mini S. We have already seen the technical specifications and device images ahead of the official launch, thanks to a full TENAA listing under the model name NX-549J.
Nubia Z11 mini S comes with a unibody metal design along with curved antenna lines at the top and bottom edge. It sports a 5.2 inch Full HD 1080p display with a pixel density of 424 ppi & 450 NIT brightness and is powered by 2.0 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor along with Adreno 506 GPU & 4 GB of RAM. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based operating system and comes with 64 GB / 128 GB of internal storage along with support for expandable storage via microsd card up to 200 GB.
In terms of camera, it comes with 23 MP Sony IMX318 main rear camera 6P Sapphire lens, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, LED flash with Full HD video recording support and another 13 MP front shooter for selfies. The fingerprint sensor is at the back below the camera and can be used for unlocking, taking photographs, screenshots and even make payments using the NFC. Thanks to NFC, you can use it for payments that need NFC. The dimensions of the device are listed as 146 × 72.14 × 8.1(mm) which means it is 8.1 mm thick & weighs 160 grams. It comes with support for 4G along with VoLTE.
The listing also points to a Lithium ion battery of 3000 mAh capacity. In terms of colours, it will be available in Silver and Gold colors. Fingerprint sensor can be seen below the main rear camera of the smartphone. The Antenna lines are integrated at the top & bottom edges of the smartphone.
Nubia Z11 Mini S is available in two variants i.e. 4 GB + 64 GB and 4 GB + 128 GB and are priced at 1499 Yuan (~Rs. 15,000 or $225) & 1899 Yuan (~Rs. 19,000 or $285) respectively. At the moment, the price and availability is only for China. The company is yet to reveal information regarding the Z11 mini S launch in other countries such as India.
