Alleged Xiaomi Mi 5C code-named Meri rumors are floating for last few months and leaks showing alleged real images of this upcoming device, spotted in full glory revealing the design & build of the device including some major specifications, followed by a geekbench listing confirming some of the specifications.
Today a new rumor originating on Chinese social network Weibo suggests that Xiaomi is planning to announce a new device on December 6 and this could be the Xiaomi Mi 5C. As per this geekbench listing,Mi 5C comes with 1.4 GHz Octa-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based operating system. It comes with 3 GB of RAM and doesn’t specify any other hardware specifications of the device.
Whereas the “About Phone” screenshot in earlier leak suggested that Mi 5C is powered by 2.2 GHz processor which may be Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. It comes with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI 8 operating system.
At the moment, we do not more information on technical specifications of the device. Rumors indicate that there may be two variants of the device with difference in Display size, quality and camera sensors. Rumors indicate the display size as 5.2 inch full HD 1080p display while the other variant with 5.5 inch display.
The last variant of the device i.e. Xiaomi Mi 4C was launched in September 2015. It sports a 5 inch full HD display powered by Snapdragon 808 and 3 GB of RAM. It comes with 13 MP main rear camera & a 5 MP front shooter for selfies. It is backed by 3080 mAh Li-ion battery.
Xiaomi has already announced an event next year in January at CES 2017 and we may expect one more device to be launched. The company is yet to announce any details about the event or the product they plan to launch.
