Xiaomi is yet to announce any official launch date for their next flagship smartphone Xiaomi MI 6. Rumor mills have churned out enough information about Mi 6 and three variants of Xiaomi Mi 6 are rumored to be in works. It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 / Mediatek Helio X 30 processor with standard variant coming with flat display along with 4 GB of RAM whereas the higher or premium variant with curved display features 6 GB of RAM. But there are conflicting rumors about the launch date with earlier rumors suggesting that Xiaomi MI 6 will announced in March – April this year, followed by another rumor indicating April 16 as the official launch date.
The latest rumor from China now indicate that Xiaomi may be postponing the official launch of Mi 6 by few weeks and will be launching the flagship device in May 2017 instead of April 16. The cause of this delay appears to be the same old Snapdragon 835 availability issue thanks to Samsung Galaxy S8 launch on March 29, though earlier rumors have suggested that Xiaomi may be using the underclocked version of Snapdragon 835 to bypass the availability problems. So it seems that Xiaomi has some serious issues in supply chain movement and they are unable to fix the Snapdragon 835 availability issues.
