Xiaomi Mi 6 leaks and rumors have increased in last few days, yet they need some confirmation or more credibility. Today, we have something to add on to those leaks / rumors and comes with a bit more credibility than many rumors. A new device from Xiaomi codenamed “Sagit” is spotted on benchmarking portal Gfxbench and we believe that it is the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6, thanks to the fact that Xiaomi had named its earlier flagship devices based on name of constellations and technical specifications revealed by the gfxbench listing suggest a new flagship.
The new Xiaomi device comes with a code name “Sagit” which may be the short form of Sagittarius. As per the gfxbench listing, Xiaomi Sagit or Xiaomi Mi 6 sports a 5.1 inch full HD 1080p display and is powered by an octa-core CPU. The listing shows two frequencies of 2.2 GHz and 2.4 Ghz which may indicate two variants of Xiaomi Mi 6 with one being with a clocked down variant. The CPU appears to be Snapdragon 835 as it is an octa-core processor and can achieve frequencies up to 2.45 GHz. The listing also show two RAM variant i.e. 6 GB & 4 GB and also two variants for internal storage i.e. 64 GB & 128 GB.
In terms of camera, it indicates a main camera of 12 MP sensor which can capture ultra HD or 4K videos and a front shooter of 8 MP sensor which too can capture ultra HD or 4K videos. When it comes to sensors, it includes NFC. The listing indicates a single SIM support, though we assume that dual SIM variants may also be in works.
Xiaomi Mi 6 is rumored to be launched in April – May 2017 officially, and an alleged device with model No. MCE16 is already listed on Chinese 3C certification. It is also rumored that Mi 6 will be waterproof and will be getting rid of the 3.5mm audio jack. Rumors also indicate that the main camera features a dual camera module and will come with 5X optical zoom.
