Lenovo India has been teasing a new upcoming device for last few days and today, the company confirmed the name of the upcoming device along with the official launch date. As per the official teaser released through Lenovo India twitter handle, Lenovo K8 Note is set to be officially unveiled on August 8 in India. If Lenovo indeed is unveiling the K8 Note, then it suggests that the company has skipped the K7 Note for unknown reasons. We have seen OnePlus skipping the OnePlus 4 and directly unveiling the OnePlus 5.
Even though the device name is K8 note as indicated by the hashtag, yet the “8” in the teaser may also indicate a dual camera module, but we are not so sure about that.
We haven’t seen much rumors or leaks for Lenovo K8 Note, except a GeekBench benchmark listing that surfaced online few days back which gives us a sneak peak of key hardware specifications of the upcoming device. Based on the Geekbench listing, the phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat based operating system and is powered by 1.4GHz MediaTek Helio X20 processor along with 4GB of RAM. If the benchmark listing is true, it indicates a significant upgrade over existing Lenovo K6 Note which is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor along with 3 GB of RAM.
