Xiaomi launched Mi Mix, a smartphone with an edgeless display having massive 91.3% screen to body ratio in China last year in October.Almost a year has passed and we can expect an official launch of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 soon. Latest rumours suggest a launch date of September 12, though the company is yet to announce anything officially. Today an alleged Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 launch poster has surfaced on the web suggesting an imminent launch of the second generation of Mi Mix device.
The leaked poster reveals the design of the front bezel-less display without revealing anything else. We can see the clear bezels-less display from three sides of the device except for the bottom edge. Mi Mix already has a massive 91.3% screen to body ratio and Mi Mix 2 is expected to further improve that ratio making it closer to 100%. The launch poster doesn’t reveal any date of the official launch and we still need to wait for some other leak or official announcement to know the actual launch date.
The upcoming device has already appeared on benchmark listings suggesting that Mi Mix 2 is powered by Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 MSM 8998 processor along with 6 GB of RAM and runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) based operating system. Another rumour suggests that it comes with 8 GB of RAM along with 128 GB / 256 GB of storage and a 5 MP front shooter positioned at the bottom bezel of the smartphone. The smartphone may feature a 6.4-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2540 x 1440 pixels though Xiaomi may stick to 2040 x 1080 just like the Mi MIX. Rumors are contradictory when it comes to the main rear camera with some indicating a 12 MP shooter on the back, while others suggest a 19 MP sensor. How of this is true, we will only know when it launches officially.
As with any other leak, take this with a grain of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
