At the Mobile World Congress 2018, Asus announced a Lite variant of Zenfone 5 i.e. Asus Zenfone 5 Lite which is basically the entry-level or low hardware specifications variant of Zenfone 5 series, targeted towards customers with the low-budget.
Zenfone 5 Lite features 6.0-inch Full HD+(2160 × 1080 pixels) 18:9 display instead of 19:9 display as in Zenfone 5Z and is powered by 2.2 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 630 Mobile Platform with Adreno 508 GPU / Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Mobile Platform with Adreno 505 GPU along with two RAM + ROM variants i.e. 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM & 4GB + 64GB ROM. The phone runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) with Zen UI 4.0, upgradable to Android 8.0 (Oreo) with Zen UI 5.0 in Q3 2018.
IN terms of camera, Zenfone 5 Lite features dual camera both at rear and front. On the rear, the phone features a dual camera module consisting of a 16MP sensor with LED flash, 0.03s PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, 3-axis EIS & secondary 120-degree wide-angle camera, 4K Video recording (in SD630 model). On the front, the dual camera module consists of a 20MP sensor with soft LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, Sony IMX376 sensor, 3-axis EIS & secondary 120-degree wide-angle camera.
The phone is backed by 3300 mAh battery and includes a dedicated MicroSD card slot.

The ASUS Zenfone 5 Lite will be available in Midnight Black, Rouge Red and Moonlight White colour options. The company is yet to announce the price of the device and is expected to go on sale starting March.
