Meizu is set to announce a new flagship device powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. Till date, there was no information or leak on the official launch date of the Meizu 16 which interestingly follows Meizu 15 series of devices launched just a few months back. Today an alleged official teaser has leaked on Chinese social network Weibo which indicates that Meizu may announce this new flagship device Meizu 16 next month in China, with the specific date of the launch teased is August 08, 2018.
The teaser image shows a full-screen display device without any notch at the front and no physical buttons. The display comes with a high screen to body ratio with negligible bezels at sides and narrow bezels at top & bottom. AT the top of the display, a very minor notch is visible though we can safely treat that there is no notch which slowly has grown into a trend with recent flagship & mid-range or even entry-level phones from other Chinese smartphone OEMs. The teaser also confirms that the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and includes an in-display fingerprint sensor and not the conventional fingerprint sensor.
Based on the leaks & rumors till date, a Meizu 16 variant powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 is also in the works. Rumors also indicate that it features a Super AMOLED screen supplied by Samsung and includes an AI Super Camera with Sony IMX380 sensor and bass-enabled stereo speakers. Under the hood, Meizu 16 comes with 6 GB / 8GB RAM along with 64GB / 128GB/ 128 GB storage. Rumors also indicate a plus variant of the device featuring 8GB of RAM along with 128GB / 256GB internal storage.
