The Xiaomi Mi A2 Android One is launched in India after the global launch last month. This is the successor to the popular Mi A1, for which the company partnered with Google.
Xiaomi Mi A2 is equipped with a large 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, 403 ppi, protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The device sports an aluminium unibody frame and has a thickness of 7.3mm.
The Mi A2 runs on stock Android One with Android Oreo 8.1 operating system and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 SoC. The phone will be available in two variants: one with 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage, and one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The camera department on the Xiaomi Mi A2 boasts dual rear cameras with the primary lens being a 12MP Sony IMX 486 sensor, 1.25um pixel size, and a f/1.75 aperture and a secondary camera which has a 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor, 2.0um 4-in-1 Super Pixel size and a f/1.75 aperture. The device makes use of AI machine learning to render the bokeh effect for pictures taken using the portrait mode.
The phone uses the secondary camera for low-light conditions and will use the primary sensor for photos taken in daylight. The front camera is the same as the 20MP lens on the back (SonyIMX376) with a 4500k selfie light and HDR, and also uses AI features for bokeh. The Mi A2 will be available in 3 colours: Gold, Blue, and Black.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 does not have a headphone jack or a microSD card slot. It uses the USB Type-C port for audio, charging the battery and for data transfers. The Mi A2 has dual speaker grilles on the bottom.
The Mi A2 will be available in 4 colours i.e. Gold, Lake Blue, Rose Gold & Black exclusively on Amazon India & MI online store. AT the moment, only the 4GB RAM variant will be available in India at a price of Rs. 16,999 with Pre-order starting on 9th August at 12 noon. The company promised that the 6GB RAM variant of MI A2 will be coming soon to India.
The Mi A2 Lite is not launched in our Country, which isn’t surprising that considering we already knew about it.
