A new ASUS Zenfone 5Z update has been released, and it brings a slew of new features for the flagship phone. You no longer have to use the power button to wake up the device, for face unlock.
You can pick up the phone, and it will recognize your face and unlock the device. That effectively makes the face unlock faster on the Zenfone 5Z, doesn’t it?
That’s not all though, the ASUS Zenfone 5Z update adds gesture controls. Add the camera app has received a major overhaul which adds a ton of features.
This includes Live Filters, RAW file support, Panorama, a new auto anti-flicker which detects the electricity frequency based on the lighting. It will switch between 50 Hz and 60 Hz for preventing flickering. The EIS has some improvements including an on/off button, support for FHD@60FPS & 18:9@30FPS,
In addition to this there are camera improvements for better HDR. Selfies, 192kbps audio support for videos, and better White Balance in the Pro mode. The latter now has a flash option and 3 Dimensional Noise Reduction.
The ASUS Zenfone 5Z update also brings an auto switch feature for video recording, which enables the camera to switch to EIS or OIS for the best video, depending on the conditions.
If you are recording for a long time, you no longer need to worry about the device heating up, because the update has added an over heat detection which works in video recording mode.
