Honor 8X Max which is scheduled to launch on September 5, has officially listed on the company’s online store Vmall in China and it basically spills the beans on almost all the key hardware specifications. We have seen some posters of the device, and some of the tech specs already in prior leaks.
The Huawei made device Honor 8X Max sports a 7.12-inch Waterdrop notch display which has an IPS screen, a resolution of 2244 x 1080 pixels, 72% NTSC color gamut, and a pixel density of 350 PPI. The phone has a screen to body ratio of 90%.
It comes with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot for up to 256GB of expandable storage. The device runs on EMUI 8.2 which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The phone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, 2.4G + 5G, BT4.2 LE and 18W Quick Charging.
The listing does not mention the processor used in the Honor 8X Max, but we reported in a prior article that it could be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. If so, this will be the first Huawei device, which does not feature a Kirin chipset in many years. The Honor 8X Max supports Dolby Atmos for 360°. The Notch has the selfie camera and the earpiece on the very edge of the top bezel.
There is a chin on the phone, and Huawei has managed to add an Honor logo to it, which kind of ruins the look of the device. The device has dual cameras on the rear, which support A.I. The back panel is also home to the fingerprint scanner. And the 8X Max has a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom. In terms of dimensions, the phone measures at 177.6 x 86.3 x 8.1 mm and weighs at 120g. The phone will support USB OTG, but sadly it has a micro-USB port.
The Honor 8X Max leak also lists the price of the device, but these are likely placeholder prices at 99 RMB. The phone will be available in Blue, Black and Red colours.
We will know the actual price of the phone when it is launched on September 5th.
