Huawei is set to officially unveil two new flagship smartphones i.e. Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro at a launch event in London on October 16. The lite variant i.e. Mate 20 Lite is already official in some countries. We still have more than a month left for the official launch which means that loads of leaks and rumours are still left before we have the official details.
Today, one such leak has surfaced on Chinese social network Weibo which indicates that Huawei is using two different kinds of a notch for Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro smartphones instead of the same notch for both the devices. The leak comes in the form of Front panel images for both the devices which reveal that Mate 20 Pro features a wide iPhone X kind of notch at the top of display while the standard Mate 20 may feature a waterdrop display with teardrop notch similar to what we have seen in Oppo F9 Pro and Vivo V11 Pro.
We already know that Huawei Mate 20 may feature an 18.7:9 aspect ratio FHD+ display (Just like Huawei P20 Pro) with a resolution of 1080×2244 pixels while the Huawei Mate 20 Pro may feature 19.5:9 aspect ratio QHD+ display with a resolution of 1440×3120 pixels. Earlier leaks have already revealed a waterdrop notch for the Mate 20 as confirmed by this leak, but it also reveals the wider notch like iPhone X for the Mate 20 Pro which we didn’t knew earlier.
Both the flagship devices are expected to be powered by the recently unveiled Huawei Kirin 980 processor (confirmed by Huawei during IFA) running Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.0 on top and boast a glass sandwich design. In terms of camera, they feature triple rear cameras as shown by recent leaks. Other features include wireless charging, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack & big batteries.
As with any other leak, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
