A Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 benchmark has surfaced on Geekbench. And the early results are impressive.
The device used was probably a test model, because the name says QUALCOMM Kona for arm64.
The phone managed to scored 4160 points in the Single-Core test. The only devices to outscore that currently, are the Samsung Galaxy S10 phones which are powered by an Exynos 9820 chipset. Surely the newly launched Exynos 9825 (on the Galaxy Note10) will fare better.
The multi-core score result of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 benchmark is 12946 points. This is so high, that no current Android device is even close to that. The nearest competitor is the Snapdragon 855 (Xiaomi Black Shark 2) with 10764 points.
The Snapdragon 865 benchmark reveals that the device was running Android 10, which is Android Q. The processor has octa-cores clocked at a base frequency of 1.8GHz, and has 6GB of RAM. According to IceUniverse, the Snapdragon 865 could appear first on the Samsung Galaxy S11. There’s a long way to go before that happens.
Besides, we will need to wait for an official announcement from Qualcomm regarding the new processor, with the usual claims like the CPU is XY% faster than the previous gen, and XY% more battery efficient. You know the drill, right?
