The Android 11 Update for Samsung Galaxy Fold is rolling out in some Countries. The update seems to have been released initially for Samsung Smart Switch, but a report has emerged which confirms that the software is being seeded over the air. The first-gen foldable has received the update just a week after the Galaxy Z Fold 2 started getting the new firmware.
What’s new in the Android 11 Update for Samsung Galaxy Fold
The firmware is based on One UI 3.0, and brings new features such as Android 11’s one-time location and sensitive permissions for apps, chat bubbles, new notification style, an overhauled UI amond other things. The update also brings the January Android Security Patch to the flagship device.
SamMobile reports that the firmware version of the Android 11 Update for Samsung Galaxy Fold is F900FXXU4DUA1 for the 4G LTE variant. The 5G model of the foldable device gets the firmware F907BXXU4DUA1.
According to the report the Android 11 Update for Samsung Galaxy Fold is currently available in France, UAE, the UK and Switzerland. Based on the official roadmap that was released by the company, the new firmware may not be available in some countries until next month.
