Android 11 Update for Micromax in 1b rolls out
With Android 12 looming around the corner, Micromax is finally rolling out the Android 11 Update for Micromax in 1b devices. The phone had been launched in November 2020 in India, with stock Android 10.
What’s new
Micromax is sticking to the ad-free, no bloatware concept for the new firmware, which is good to see. The latest iteration of the mobile operating system brings Android 11 features such as priority notifications, chat bubbles, etc. The update also adds support for improved privacy controls such as one-time permissions for camera, mic, location, so apps can’t access these when you are not using them.
The Android 11 Update for Micromax in 1b weighs about 1.69GB to download, and ships with the latest Android Security Patch. If you haven’t received the OTA notification on your device, you may check for the update manually by navigating to the Settings > System > Advanced screen, and selecting the System Update option.
According to the official announcement, the new firmware is being rolled out in batches, and will be available for Micromax in 1b users shortly. The company has also confirmed on Twitter, that it is working on the Android 11 Update for Micromax in Note 1, and that it will be released soon.
