Xiaomi has announced the MIUI 14 update roadmap. Here’s when your Redmi and Mi phones will get the update.
MIUI 14 is based on Android 13, which was released about 5 months ago. Let’s find out what the new firmware brings to the table.
What’s new in MIUI 14?
MIUI 14 has some new features that will improve the user experience. The custom Android skin developed by Xiaomi has a new UI with a card-style design that displays more information, and does so more efficiently. Notifications can now be closed instead of staying permanently.
Xiaomi is stepping up the privacy level of MIUI 14, the new on-device privacy feature minimizes the risk of sensitive data leaking by placing protective mechanisms to ensure that the data is processed directly on your device. This includes on-device image processing, text recognition, etc. On-device privacy will support 10+ system services including the Settings, Gallery, and more apps.
MIUI 14 also will let you connect to devices (phones and tablets) seamlessly, and switch between them quickly. It supports drag and drop to transfer files between devices. Xiaomi says that the back-end optimization in MIUI 14 makes it lighter, system resources take up less storage, and that the OS will auto-compress apps that are rarely used.
