Samsung has launched the Galaxy Z Fold5 along with the Galaxy Z Flip5. Let’s take a look at what the bigger of the two foldable phones has to offer.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 sports a 7.6-inches QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display. The screen supports a resolution of 2176 x 1812 pixels, has a 120Hz Adaptive refresh rate (1~120Hz), a 21.6:18 Aspect Ratio, and a pixel density of 374 PPI. The South Korean electronics giant has equipped a new Flex Hinge on the foldable.
The cover display on the Galaxy Z Fold5 is a 6.2-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen which has a resolution of 2316 x 904 pixels, a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate (48~120Hz), a pixel density of 402 PPI and a 23.1:9 aspect ratio. The internal screen and the cover display are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
The foldable flagship phone runs on One UI 5.1.1 based on Android 13, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 octa-core processor with an Adreno 740 GPU, 12 GB of RAM, and 256 GB / 512 GB / 1 TB of storage.
The Galaxy Z Fold5 has a 10 megapixels selfie lens on the cover display, with an 10 MP f/2.2 aperture, and an 85˚ FOV. The internal screen is home to a 4 megapixels under display camera that has an f/1.8 aperture, and an 80˚ FOV. The smartphone has a triple camera array on the rear panel that consists of a 12 megapixels Ultra Wide Lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and an 123˚ FOV, a 50 megapixels wide-angle Lens, that supports optical image stabilization (OIS), has an f/1.8 aperture, and an 85˚ FOV. The third camera on the device is a 10 megapixels telephoto lens that supports Phase Detect Auto Focus (PDAF), has an f/2.4 aperture with a 36˚ FOV, supports OIS and 3X optical zoom.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 packs a 4,400 mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging via a USB Type-C port. It is capable of charging the battery up to 50% in about 30 minutes. The device also suports fast wireless charging 2.0 and Wireless PowerShare. Connectivity options on the mobile include support for 5G and 4G LTE mobile networks, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and GPS. Sensors on the foldable include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, an accelerometer, a barometer, a gyro sensor, a geomagnetic sensor, a hall sensor, a proximity sensor, and a light sensor.
