Do you have a Redmi, Xiaomi or Poco phone with a high refresh rate? Most of these devices allow you to lower or increase the setting. Let us show you how to change the refresh rate in MIUI.
How to change the refresh rate in MIUI
1. Go to the Settings on your phone.
2. Tap on Display.
3. Scroll down the page, and you will see an option for refresh rate. Tap on it.
4. The Refresh rate screen will display the options that are available for your phone. Normally this will have an option for 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz or 144Hz. Choose the one that you want to use.
And that is how to change the refresh rate in MIUI. That was quite easy, wasn’t it?
Setting a lower refresh rate such as 60Hz will conserve the battery life on your phone, this can be helpful if you are travelling, or don’t have a charger and want to reduce the power consumption of the device without switching to airplane mode.
On the other hand, setting a high refresh rate like 90, 120 or 144Hz will allow you to scroll through pages more smoothly. You will also get higher frame rates in games, i.e. if you want to play a game at 90 fps, you can set the refresh rate to 90Hz.
Some phone models support a feature called Adaptive Refresh Rate, or Dynamic Refresh Rate. Setting the option to Adaptive Refresh Rate will let the phone drop the frame rate to a low value automatically, and a higher refresh rate when required.
