Alleged Renders of HTC upcoming flagship smartphone HTC U (code named Ocean) has leaked on the web. The leak comes from @lovehtc_thailad who tweeted the alleged render for the HTC U. This upcoming flagship phone from HTC is rumored to sport a 5.5-inch display with a resolution 1440 x 2560 pixels and is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SOC chipset along with Adreno 540 GPU. It will come with HTC’s Sense 9 UI on top of Android 7.0 Nougat based operating system with 64GB / 128GB of expandable native storage. In terms of camera, it is expected to feature a 12 MP main rear camera and another 16MP front shooter for selfies.
The alleged render reproduced above of HTC U Ocean show thin bezels at sides while narrow bezels at top and bottom. The speaker grills and USB C type port is visible at the bottom, while the SIM Tray is visible at the top. The renders though offer us no Volume rocker buttons or even power button, which is quite strange. The HTC branding is present at the top bezel and at the back panel. A single main rear camera with LED flash is visible at the back, but again we can not see any fingerprint sensor or home button at front which again is quite odd. The absence of buttons suggest possible integration of home button / navigation buttons and fingerprint sensors with the display, yet we got no clue where the Power button is.
An unknown device from HTC had surfaced on Antutu Benchmark just few days back with a model number of HTC CPB which we assume is the same HTC U codenamed Ocean. The company is yet to announce any official details or launch dates for their next flagship device. As with any other leak, take this with a pinch of salt.
