HMD Global has scheduled a Nokia launch event on Thursday, October 18 in China and is expected to announce a new smartphone. The company has not specified any details on the smartphone, yet rumors suggests that it may be the unannounced Nokia 7 or the Nokia 8 which is yet to be launched in China.
As Nokia 8 is yet to be announced in China, the launch event may be for unveiling the two variants (4GB RAM/ 64GB storage and 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage) of Nokia 8. Or it may be the new Nokia 7 thanks to a teaser on a chinese e-commerce portal Tmall with the same date pointing to the number ‘7’, or Qi in Chinese.
Today an alleged render (sketch to be more specific) of Nokia 7 has surfaced on the web in China which shows the device from front and rear. The fingerprint sensor is visible on the rear panel just below the main rear camera along with LED flash. The Nokia branding is vertically aligned along with the fingerprint sensor and main rear camera & LED flash.
On the front, front camera along with speakers and Nokia branding is visible at the top, while the physical navigation buttons are at bottom. The alleged leak doesn’t confirm whether the navigation buttons are capacitive or virtual ones. The bezels at top and bottom are big and similar to the conventional smartphones that we see in most devices not having the 18:9 display. The Volume rocker and Power buttons are on the same side of the device.
Based on the rumors, Nokia 7 may be announced in three variants with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. It may come with a 5.2 inch Full HD 1080p display, powered Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor and may offer the Nokia 8’s OZO Audio and Bothie features.
As with any other leak, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
