Over the past couple of weeks, we have seen the leaked technical specifications of the 2016 phones from Google, the Nexus Sailfish, and the Nexus Marlin. Today, we have our first look at the two phones which will be manufactured by HTC.
The image above, (courtesy Android Police) is not an official press render. Instead, the leak report, claims it has been recreated completely based on their source, which it alleges is the real deal.
First of all, it is worth mentioning that both the HTC Nexus Sailfish and the HTC Nexus Marlin, will look identical, to the photo featured above. The only difference is apparently only in size, i.e, the display. And quite frankly, this isn’t very surprising news, considering that the previous leaks pointed that the internal hardware of the two devices, are almost identical.
The photo itself, is very intriguing. The back of the phone sports a two tone look, one which looks like metal, and the other, the striking plastic look. The devices have an aluminum body, and could come in aluminum with a white front panel, and Blue with a white front panel.
There is a G logo on the back, which represents Google, but according to the leak, this may not make it to the final version of the device, and neither could a HTC logo.
The Nexus Sailfish render, has a fingerprint scanner placed on the center of the back panel, while the primary camera is on the top right of the rear of the phone. The report suggests that the phone has a curved back.
We can see the new “solid white” navigation buttons, on the screen’s bottom. The bezels of the phone do look enormous, and gives it a non-flagship look. It somehow reminds us of the Moto G.
Take the leak with a pinch of salt, as with any rumor. But one thing is certain, this is the most unusual design from HTC, we have ever seen.
