Rumor mills have started to spin faster for Xiaomi Mi 6 and more leaks have started to emerge about the device. The last rumor that we reported suggests that Xiaomi may be using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 for the standard or lower variant of Xiaomi Mi 6 just as LG G6 and may use Snapdragon 835 for the higher or premium variant. Another rumor indicated a possible delay in the official launch which may now happen in May 2017 only thanks to Snapdragon 835 availability issues. Today, three more leaks / rumors have surfaced from China which come in the form of alleged Xiaomi Mi 6 Render along with price of variants and an “About Screen” of the device (1, 2).
Two images have surfaced on the web which are allegedly the Mi 6 Renders in black and show the flagship device from front & back side. As per this alleged render, the front home button can be seen at the bottom of the display while a dual camera setup appears at back panel along with LED flash. The side edges at back appears curved while the front display is flat and not curved.
Another image allegedly show the price of different Xiaomi Mi 6 variants and include some basic specifications too. It indicates Snapdragon 835 processor along with IMX400 camera sensor. The image also indicates a 8 GB rAM variant and support for 3D touch. The three variants of MI 6 come with 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB internal storage and are priced at 1999 Yuan, 2299 Yuan, 2899 Yuan respectively.
In our view though, both these leaked images appear far from credible and may be just photoshop jobs.
Apart from these images, another screenshot image of Mi 6 “About Phone” has also leaked which gives us a sneak peek into the technical specifications of the flagship device. As per “About Phone” screenshot, Mi 6 runs on MIUI 8.3.14 based on Android 7.0 Nougat based operating system.
It indicates a 2.7 GHz Quad-core processor which clearly indicates that it’s not a Snapdragon 835 processor (which is an octa-core processor), but a quad core CPU indicates Snapdragon 821 processor but that too we know is limited to 2.4 GHz. Hence a 2.7 GHz frequency doesn’t makes much sense unless we are considering an overclocked CPU here. The image indicates a 6 GB RAM and 256 internal storage on the phone. Hence we are not sure if this leak is credible enough or not.
As with any other leak, take these leaks with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Andridpure and we will keep you updated.
