As reported earlier that Amazon may be planning to launch its own first smartphone device around end of June this year, more details have emerged. Pictures and specifications of the alleged first Amazon 3D Smartphone have emerged on BGR which got exclusive photos of a prototype of the unreleased device in addition to major portion of its technical specifications.
The leaked image available from BGR shows a protective shell covering the device probably to avoid leaks related to the physical design of the phone before the actual launch.
BGR also reports that Amazon will be launching two models of it’s first smartphone on which they are currently working on. The other model which is yet to be leaked will be an entry-level device with lower-end specs and an aggressive retail price. The launch of the lower end device may happen few months after the launch of higher end device.
In terms of technical specifications related to hardware, the high end device reportedly sports a 4.7-inch, 720p display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor along with 2GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel main rear camera & a standard front-facing camera.
The most distinguishing feature of the said phone will be the 3D software interface and the hardware mechanism that enables it, which will use an additional four front-facing cameras that work with other sensors on the device.
In terms of Android, the device will run heavily customized version of Android from Amazon just like those that run on Amazon tablets.
