Android 11 Update for Poco M2 Pro released
Remember the Poco M2 Pro? The mid-range phone was launched in July 2020 with Android 10. Well, the Android 11 Update for Poco M2 Pro has finally been released.
Google is set to announce Android 12 in a month or two, but the Xiaomi-owned brand has just updated one of its popular mid-range phones to last year’s OS. The Chinese OEM has never been known for its quick updates, but huge delays like these are sure to disappoint Poco users.
Poco M2 Pro Android 11 Update change log
The update brings the August Android Security Patch from Google. That is the only change mentioned in the release notes, apart from the Android OS upgrade. The new firmware weighs 2.3GB to download. The version number of the update is MIUI 12.0.1.0.RJPINXM
Double tap to switch apps is not working on Poco M2 Pro after the Android 11 Update
One of our staff, Ashok, who has the Poco M2 Pro, experienced an issue after updating the phone. The double tap to switch apps gesture stopped working on his device. The issue happens even when the Poco Launcher is set as the default on the device. We currently don’t have a solution for this issue yet, but you can try clearing the launcher app’s cache, to see if it fixes the problem.
It is strange that the Poco M2 Pro is still on MIUI 12.0, i.e., it has not been updated to MIUI 12.5.0. But maybe that’s not a bad thing, after all, we have seen some heating issues on the Poco F3 GT and the Redmi Note 10 Pro on MIUI 12.5.0.
