Samsung’s Android OS update record continues to impress us. The South Korean electronics giant has released the Android 11 Update for Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10e. The flagship phones debuted in 2019 with Android 9, and were updated to Android 10 in 2020.
What is new in the Android 11 Update for Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10e
The update brings the January Security Patch to the phones. It ships with the company’s custom Android skin, One UI 3.0, and includes all of Android 11’s new features including better permission and location controls, conversation management from the Quick Settings.
In addition to an overhauled UI, improved settings, Samsung has also updated its stock apps including the Internet browser, Keyboard, Gallery and Camera apps. A new media widget is available for the homescreen, along with additional options for customizing the lockscreen and homescreen. The version number of the Android 11 Update for Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10e is as follows: G970FXXU9ETLJ/G970FOXM9ETLJ/G970FXXU9ETLJ. The update is about 1888MB (1.8GB) to download.
Users at the Samsung community forums have reported that they have received the update on their phones already. You can check for the OTA manually by navigating to the Settings > Software Update page and tap on download update.
