ASUS did not launch the Zenfone 7 in India, and though it initially prepped to release the Zenfone 8, the company backed out of the plan. The ROG Phone 3 and ROG Phone 5 however, proved to be a hit among gamers in the Country.
According to a statement released on its Zentalk forums, ASUS says that the update will include some changes related to ZenUI that includes a better control panels, simpler navigation, customization options, increased visibility for better control, etc. The electronics giant has already recruited beta testers for the program, and is currently in the process of ironing out bugs in the OS. Once it has polished the firmware, it will be released for all users.
Roadmap for the Android 12 update for ASUS Zenfone and ROG phone series
The first phones from the Taiwan-based company that will be updated to Android 12 are the ASUS ZenFone 8 and ASUS ZenFone 8 Flip. The brand aims to start the release for both devices in December.
Q1 of 2022 will see the new firmware ship to the ASUS ROG Phone 5 and ASUS ROG Phone 5S. The company says it will provide the Android 12 Update for the ASUS ZenFone 7 and ASUS ROG Phone 3, in the first half of 2022.
Google started rolling out the Android 12 Update for Pixel phones from Tuesday, October 19th. Several OEMs have also put up their plans to release Android 12 for their phones, including the likes of Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, and Vivo.
