The Android 12 Update for OnePlus Nord has been released. To recall, the mid-range mobile was launched in July 2020, with OxygenOS 10 based on Android 10.
What’s new in the Android 12 Update for OnePlus Nord
The update brings Oxygen OS 12.1 based on Android 12 for the device. It includes all the goodies from the latest version of the operating system, including new privacy controls, on-screen indicators to display when an app is accessing your camera or microphone or location. Other features that the new software brings include an improved UI, better icons for the home screen, enhancements to the Shelf, Dark mode with three adjustable levels, and a Smart Battery Engine that helps improve the life of the battery.
Oddly, the update does not bring the latest patch from Google, and instead ships with the April 2022 Security Patch. The build number of the firmware is AC2001_11.F.11. The firmware is currently being seeded in India, but the announcement from the company says that the Android 12 Update for OnePlus Nord will be released soon in Europe. According to screenshots shared by users on the community forums, the update weighs about 4000MB or 4GB in size to download.
Known issues in Android 12 Update for OnePlus Nord
Unfortunately, there are quite a few known issues in the OxygenOS 12.1 Update for the OnePlus Nord. The change log for the update mentions that the clock in the Always-On Display may be shown abnormally. iCloud may fail to login while using the Clone Phone app. The most important issue however is that there may be frame drops in games, so if you have poor framerates, you know what the cause is.
The OnePlus Nord may report an incorrect location for the folder where the backed up data is stored. Photos may not appear in the gallery when searching related locations. The call screen may not display the connected Bluetooth device’s name correctly.
